To keep the company of Christ…..
Me:
To end my day in chat, I posted a devotional by Spurgeon. I just pulled up todays devotional, not knowing the subject matter, and was amazed at how well it applied to us in chat.
Spurgeon:
Tell me where you lost the company of Christ, and I will tell you the most likely place to find Him. Have you lost Christ in the closet by restraining prayer? Then it is there you must seek and find Him. Did you lose Christ by sin? You will find Christ in no other way but by the giving up of the sin, and seeking by the Holy Spirit to mortify the member in which the lust doth dwell. Did you lose Christ by neglecting the Scriptures? You must find Christ in the Scriptures.
Me:
This little bit of Spurgeons devotional reminded me of all those who have come in crying out that they feel apart from Christ. (And yes, me too at times.) When we feel apart from the Lord, we need to turn to Him all the more. Pray, even if it doesnt seem to do any good. Read the bible even though we may not feel like reading. And turn our backs on sin. Keep Him as our focus.
Great stuff in that devotional today. How to stay in Christ.

Amen Jade,
Am so very thankful that when I think God has moved…I find that He is not the one who moved. Spurgeon does have a way with words!

********************HAVE FAITH IN GOD”*******************
This is the scripture GOD gave me just a couple of days ago while listening to a song.
MARK 11:23&24
23 “For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24 Therefore I say unto you What things soever ye desire when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.”
I’ve heard, and quoted this scripture for years as many of you have, but this time GOD really spoke to my heart in an awesome way, because I am facing some major situations in my life right now. I feel compelled to take GOD at HIS Word, and do just what HE said, “HAVE FAITH IN GOD”.

I wonder why it is, that many find it so easy to stray from the One who loves us and created us, and gives us life. Why we depend so much more on ourselves than in Christ too often.
I also know that when a sin comes into my life, why is it I sometimes allow the sin to stay rather than release it, and cling to God and His promises? Instead I allow the sin to be a block in my relationship w/ Christ. I sometimes think of God looking down on me with a face of sadness and a tear, and I am sorry for causing a break in His and my relationship, yet I sometimes don’t release the stumbling block.
I’m so thankful He can love a wretch like me, and that Jesus’ blood was shed to cover our sins, and that He choses to seek relationship with every one of us! Through the good and bad.
