In one sense easier to run than a church

Posted by George on the January 4th, 2006

So often we read or hear about a church splitting, or being divided over an issue.

One advantage we have to running a chat room is how often all the moderators are on the same page — why? Because there’s actual evidence of any inappropriate behavior.

In a church setting, there’s often a situation where you have to wholeheartly “trust” without any evidence. For example, let’s suppose a deacon is involved in appropriate behavior and has to remove the deacon from leadership. Often the pastor is left in a position where he’s developed enough “trust” in the congregation to avoid a split. Meanwhile the enemy is working overtime sowing in doubt, and disbelief so that “trust” has been eroded over time. So it becomes a battle for that pastor to keep unity in his church.

So in one sense we have an advantage of keeping unity within the body because “every” word and action is recorded. Whenever an action is taken by myself — and someone wonders why it has taken place — I can simply pull out the chat logs and show the evidence of “inappropriate” behavior. So we do have one slight advantage when trying to keep the unity of the saints.

So the next time you wonder about an action taken in the chat room by a moderator — you also have to remember to “trust” the moderators because the reality is that there’s always something “more” behind the scenes that we are aware of!

We truly hope that you become an active part of the fellowship here at Worthy Chat!

May God bless you,

George

What Worthy Chat is all about…

Posted by George on the January 2nd, 2006

Dear Saints in the Lord,

I thought it would be best to start off talking about when Worthy Chat was created.  For years now, I’ve been involved in different Christian Chat rooms and how they function and operate.  And over that time, I’ve learned a few things.

The number one thing that makes a chat room work are the people involved!  There are many Christian chat rooms out there, but few are well moderated and “Christ-centered!”

So I thought I’d start by creating a blogging system so that you can all get to understand and know our moderators.

Your brother in Christ with much agape love,

George
