I helped man the CDC Swineflu Hot lines only for the last two weeks in April. First, CNN does not have a Chief Science Medical Officer and the CDC does. Also, confirmed information changes rapidly. We were given updates from the CDC to man the confirmed information every two hours as this News hysteria proceded. What was old information on a Friday changed to confirmed information by a Sunday because of the responsibility to test the incoming samples across the United States through first the local health departments and Health professionals that could at first only test for Infuenza type A and Infuenza type B and then send those samples to the CDC labs for further testing. The SNS Strategic National Supply was released to all 50 states and it's territory's when President Obama received information that the H1N1 Swinefluwas was confirmed in our county by the WHO, World Health Organization. However, goto the CDC website and type in the search field "Swine Flu" with an Adjective like "infants" and then in the search field type in "H1N1" with the adjective "Infants" and look at the dates of these articles of information and compare them. The CDC only had the swine flu information to use in the beginning and as incoming confirmed information was made available, especially when the strain had show both similarties but with significant differences, then did the CDC declare the new name of this Influenza and other types of information also became confirmed and released to their web site and hot lines or better scrutiny. Back to the Infants. You will notice that the information for infants changed from no Tamiflu perscription for swine flu in infants to a table of a break down of the dosages that infants as young as 0-3months could take when prescribed by a Doctor.
